I never knew Terri, but I know my life is the poorer for it. She has given a face and a voice to the weakest among us, and for that I am eternally grateful. Although I do not share Terri's faith, the testimonies of her family and friends who affirmed her faith in her G-d have reaffirmed my faith in my own Creator. I pray that the grace of the Most High One will be visited upon the houses of those who mourn for Terri's loss. May the hand of He who made her whipe away every tear from our eyes. May we be able to see through the pain to recognise our dreams of a world where such tragic and untimely loss of life is little more than a horrible nightmare. And may the day when all life is respected and protected as a precious gift from our Heavenly Father come to us swiftly. Close

May you be comforted knowing that Terri is now receiving heavenly sustenance from the Hand of God and is in a place where neither we nor her husband can hurt her any more. Americans of all faiths fought and prayed to have her killing stopped, but to no avail. Woe to us on the day of judgment. Close

Im so sorry for the suffering Theresa had to endure through the last few weeks of her life.. I watched the news everyday hoping that justice would be won and that the feeding tube be replaced.. She lived so long still caring and loving the people around her and them loving back that there was no need for the tube to be removed.. To me that was sentencing a live person to the death chair In my eyes and she did'nt deserve to suffer like that at all.. Im here with you on this that the law was wrong.. http://amy-field.memory-of.com All my Love Amanda Close

Your Terri is now at peace and safely in the arms of God. I have followed her life since it was first made known on the news. I cannot believe that in our society, we would witness the starvation death of a young woman who had every right to live. You could see life in her eyes and love for her family. Just know, dear family members, that God is a God of justice and he will take revenge on the people who perpetrated such a heinous act. My love and prayers are with you as I also lost a loved one in February. The world is praying for you now. The Lord has you in his arms. He wants you to rest in Him and He will help you bear your grief in the days, weeks, months and years to come. My prayers are with you. My love is with you. God Bless all of you. Carolyne Close

I just want to offer my condolensces to the family (the one's who actually cared) of Ms. Schindler. I sat by helplessly watching "them" slowly and inhumanely starve and dehydrate this poor woman to death. It is mindboggling to think about what this country is coming to. What a horrible precedent this incident has set!!!!! To those who took a part in this: I hope you suffer a comparable death, or better yet, a life of misery for what you have done. That's all I have to say.
For Mary and Bob Schindler, Bobby and Suzanne...with sympathy, love and thanks/ Marilyn &. Elizabeth Acosta (Friend of the Spirt and Heart)
Our deepest and most heartfelt sympathies to Mr. and Mrs. Schindler and to Bobby and Suzanne. The horror and agony you have endured these past years is not for naught. Your suffering, your love and loyalty for Terri is forever memorable. You kept Terri here on this earth all these long years with your determination and endless fight for her life. Terri and your fight for her touched millions of lives; you put her name on the lips of people from the Pope, Prime Ministers, Presidents, Governors, Legislators, and the masses of people all the way down to little children. Terri's name will not be forgotten and this fight has not been in vain. You all will be responsible for saving the lives of countless others because of your long battle. I thank you for all you have done to make Terri's Fight a fight for the plight of the disabled who cannot speak out for themselves, too..
I know you are anguished, you are exhausted, and the grief will never end. But it will become easier to cope once you come to the realization of how much good Terri and your effort for Terri, how much of a difference you have made. Though you will always miss her, always feel the loss, please know how much others love you and look up to you and feel your pain.
As the mother of Elizabeth, a daughter with anoxic injury, and Cindy, a daughter murdered, my pride and admiration for you is immeasurable. I share your pain and only wish that I had been able to go to be in Florida with you during these long terrible times. I hope some day we will be able to meet.
I found it so fitting that the Holy Father, who championed Terri's cause and spoke out for her himself, will now be with Terri, both of them whole once more, walking the streets of gold.
When I think of Terri and of you, always with love and heartfelt sadness for your grief, I think of the poem by Dylan Thomas: "Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light."
Because of you, Terri did not "go gentle into that good light". God Bless You.

As a long time resident of Pinellas County, I have seen this ordeal you have been through for some time, and I have been awed by the strength and determination you showed to do whatever was needed to help Terri and to never give up. She must be so proud of her wonderful family. I think Terri is looking down and smiling because she knows how much she is loved. May God bless you abundantly, comfort you and give you peace for all the days ahead.

a memorial essay/ Nancy Phillips (touched by Terri's fight)
To the Schindler family, my thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult time. Terri’s death, although untimely and certainly unnecessary has a greater meaning, it will not be in vane.Although I am greatly saddened by her passing, I do believe that God in his infinite wisdom as chosen Terri for a very special purpose.I have never met Terri or her family but she has deeply touched me as she has many people world wide, including our beloved Holy Father, Pope John Paul II, may he rest in peace.
I wrote this essay as my memorial to Theresa Maria Schindler:
America and the world watched……
Not just the death of a disable woman, Theresa Maria Schindler but the death of the heart and soul of our society.
American watched as children tried to bring water to a starving woman and were arrested by those that are to serve and protect, their only crime that of humanity.
American watched as the law makers tried to make sure that an innocent American’s civil rights were not violated only to be condemned for politicizing their cause.Their critics claim the law was unconstitutional, however I believe there is a greater law we must follow, that of humanity.
American watched as our Court system protected and defended the will of a man allowed to determine the will of a loved one who had once vowed before God to love, honor and protect her. They failed to follow the most necessary law of our society, that of humanity
American watched as The Leader of the free world and The Governor of the State, whose spiritual beliefs of the right of life were criticizing for being crusaders and the only debate is the political repercussions they will now endure for their passion to protect a life. They were left helpless under our man made laws to exercise executive powers to protect a dying woman only by the uncompromising will of our judiciary and of their lack humanity
American watched a Judge allow a woman to die an unnecessary death because of personal pride and conceit of his decision being upheld, which only evidences his lack of humanity.
Political commentators debated the political issues, the media reported the court battles, the rallies, the protestors, the legal commentators debated the legalities of the law, all as American and the world watched helplessly a young woman die a painful and unnecessary death. Not surprisingly they missed the most profound aspect of the death of Theresa Maria Schindler because with her the heart and soul of our society died as well. We have become so cynical in our society that the greater cause and issue at hand went unnoticed as laws, politics, protestors and family dissention all can under scrutiny. American did not only witness the death of Theresa Maria Schindler with her we witnessed the death of Humanity…….
Many will say Terri's legacy is now the inspiration for families to write living wills, I say she is the inspiration for us to regain our humanity; a human life is worth so much more that what was afforded Theresa Marie Schindler, may she rest in peace.
